Getting ready for a trip to Sun-Kissed Resort? Here’s everything you need to know before you arrive — check-in details, what’s already at the cottage, what to pack, and a few things that’ll make the first hour of your stay a lot smoother.
Check-In and Check-Out
Check-in is at 4:00 PM, and check-out is at 10:00 AM. We do our best to accommodate early check-in or late check-out requests, but they’re not guaranteed — if your travel plans depend on either, reach out ahead of time and we’ll let you know what’s possible for your dates.
What’s Already at the Cottage
Every cottage at Sun-Kissed comes stocked with the basics, so you’re not hauling half your house up to Lake Huron. Linens and towels are provided, along with kitchen essentials — cookware, dishes, a coffee maker, and coffee to start your morning. Shampoo, body soap, and basic cleaning products are on hand too. High-speed WiFi runs throughout the cottages and the shared pavilion, so you’re covered if you need to check in with work or just want to stream something in the evening.
Beyond your own cottage, every guest — whether you’re renting one cottage or the entire resort — has access to the Lakeside Pavilion. That means a Blackstone grill, plenty of seating, and a projector with a movie screen for evenings on the property. Direct Lake Huron beach access is just steps away, and there’s outdoor seating scattered around the grounds if you’d rather just sit with the lake breeze.
What to Pack
Since the basics are covered, focus your packing on the things that make a lake trip actually feel like a lake trip:
Swimsuits and a few towels for the beach (the ones inside are for the cottage, not the sand). Sunscreen — Lake Huron’s shoreline here gets full sun most of the day. A light layer or two for the evenings; even in the middle of summer, it can cool off noticeably once the sun’s down over the water. Water shoes if you’ve got sensitive feet, since the shoreline can have rocks in spots. Bug spray for evenings at the pavilion. And of course, groceries — the kitchen’s ready for you to cook, but it won’t stock itself.
If you’re planning to grill at the pavilion, you’re welcome to bring your own food for the Blackstone — just note it’s shared space if other guests or units are using the property at the same time, so plan around that if you’re booking a single cottage rather than the whole resort.
Traveling With Pets
Sun-Kissed Resort is pet-friendly. There’s a $25/night pet fee, and we ask that you let us know ahead of time if you’re bringing a pet so we can note it on your reservation.
Booking One Cottage or the Whole Resort
Sun-Kissed has six cottages total — five two-bedroom units and one three-bedroom unit — and you can book a single cottage for a smaller trip or rent the entire resort if you’ve got a bigger group. Renting the whole property gives you exclusive use of all six cottages and the shared spaces, which tends to work well for reunions or larger multi-family trips. If Anything Comes Up During Your Stay
Sun-Kissed Resort is professionally managed by Talo Stays. If you have a question before you arrive, need something during your stay, or run into an issue with the cottage, reaching out to Talo Stays is the same as reaching out to us directly — you’re not being handed off to a call center, it’s a real team that knows this property.
Cancellations
If your plans change, cancellations made within 24 hours of booking get a full refund regardless of check-in date. After that: 30 or more days before check-in, full refund; 7–30 days before check-in, 50% refund; less than 7 days before check-in, no refund. Full details are on our booking page.
